Lena's Italian Kitchen (Kips Bay)

The food was delicious, but that's not even why I'm writing this review. The owner contacted me directly to apologize for the slight delay last night due to the extreme weather and offered a discount to make up for it. I'm visiting NYC for work and can tell you that I never get such excellent level of service in LA. 5 stars for the food AND the service! Will definitely return.

With plenty of places to order Italian food in the area, Lenas is one of the few that does it right. My meal was delicious and exactly how the dish should taste. Although I do think Lenas is on the pricer side of things, the quality is totally there. The plastic containers the food comes in are also just a nicer touch.

I give 5 stars because the food is AMAZING and the customer service is awesome. But theres always an issue. Forgetting a drink, a 2 hour delivery wait. Not every time, but it happens a bit. The food is worth the wait though. So definitely try it, youll be happy you did!

Great! Once you see the portion size you'll understand the price. A bit expensive, but the portions are generous and the food is amazing! Delivery was on time. 5 stars all around.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I ordered the meatballs and they were great! I cant wait to try the rest of the stuff on the menu.

My order did not arrive during the scheduled time so I called and asked where my order was. The nice lady who answered the phone told me they had a computer glitch and it would be leaving to me soon. After I hung up she called me back and said "I am going to call seamless and give you a refund." I said no and I just wanted my food she said of course you'll get both. I was so surprised.
Good came quick after and it was amazing!! Packaged so nicely, the chicken parm is cooked perfectly and you can tell that the chicken is fresh. Got the side of penne with vodka sauce and it was delicious, definitely not jarred vodka sauce.
Will definitely order from here more. Maybe I'll pick up though.

This is our new go-to for Italian. The meatballs are very good - and you get a generous portion. The Forentina pasta is now my favorite pasta dish. I love being able to customize it - I added mushrooms. So good. And - I cant believe Im saying this about take-out, but the side of broccoli is surprisingly excellent. Flavorful and still hot when it arrived. For our holiday parties, Im probably just going to order Lenas and put it in some fancy dishes, then take all the credit for being a good chef. Thanks, Lena.

I have picked up food and gotten food delivery from Lena's a few times. I think their truly homestyle food is a great addition to the neighborhood. Definitely the best meatballs around here and very tasty sauce. The chicken parmigiana is also top notch. Need something green? Try the broccoli or broccoli rabe. Aside from offering delicious food that seems to be made with care, the servings are ample and offer great value. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by to pick up. You will find the people are as nice as the food.

I dont really get the reviews about this place being expensive. I ordered a side portion of pasta and it was a full meal for me. Im guessing the entree portions (which have a high price point) have enough food for two meals. The food was delicious, and I was happy there were vegetable options. I wish the pasta came with some grated cheese on the side, but thats my only thought.

They sent the wrong food, however the lady on the phone was very apologetic and had my order with me in 10 minutes. It happens

I had the pasta bolognese and a side of meatballs and I've got to say it is now my neighborhood favourite. Great quality pasta and tender meatballs
